Volkswagen’s acclaimed Golf 118TSI has added another significant title to its list of achievements by claiming the award as ‘Best Mid size car over $30,000’ in Australia’s Best Car Awards 2009. The Volkswagen Golf has recently come up trumps in a range of automotive awards. Both Carsguide and DRIVE announced the Volkswagen Golf 118TSI as the overall winner in their Car of the Year Awards for 2009.

The judges agreed the engine and gearbox match felt like it was from two classes above; while the interior offered an abundance of high-quality, premium materials, all impeccably presented. Safety features, such as the seven airbags, coupled with stability control and a maximum five star ANCAP rating made the Golf unstoppable, resulting in the 118TSI winning the Best Small Car over $20,000 category.
