Park Assist

Park Assist helps drivers by taking over and reversing the vehicle in the parking space elegantly in one swoop. Drivers only have to work the accelerator and the brakes. The system automatically scans the space and steers the vehicle. Drivers of course continue to be in command of their vehicle at all times. Manually controlling the steering wheel immediately ends the assisted sequence.
All drivers have to do is activate the system by pressing the Park Assist button and to drive past potential spaces at the right speed (max. 30 kilometres per hour). Park Assist scans to the left or the right, and sets up the vehicle for parking.

Park Assist certainly makes things much easier for drivers. It is very quick and involves less stress for drivers, especially with traffic coming from behind. The car is parked within 15 seconds. It also reduces the risk of damaging wheels by driving into kerbs. Now you can even enjoy parking. Park Assist is available in the new Golf, Tiguan, Passat and Passat CC model ranges.

Disclaimer

Park Assist cannot replace the driver’s attentiveness. The driver is still legally responsible for the vehicle. If the driver notices a risk that pedestrians, other vehicles or objects could be damaged or if they are uncertain of the risk, they will need to react accordingly and stop the vehicle, ending the function.
