The Crafter.

Our engineers have developed a completely new range of engines for the all new Volkswagen Crafter. The 2.5 litre, 5 cylinder common rail TDI diesel engines are available in a variety of power outputs from 80kW through to a thundering 120kW. Common rail technology offers reduced engine noise, whilst delivering optimum performance, impressive economy and huge torque.

The all new Volkswagen Crafter adds further flexibility with the Shiftmatic gearbox. This lightweight gearbox combines the functionality of an automatic with the characteristics of a manual. The Shiftmatic can be operated in either manual or automatic mode. In automatic mode the gears are automatically selected and for those times where extra acceleration is needed there is a kick-down function. If the driver wishes to use manual mode they simply push the gearlever forward to change down, or backwards to change up, giving all the benefits of a manual gearbox without the need for a manual clutch – ideal for driving around town or short haul work.
