  • Driver Fatigue Detection1

    This potentially life-saving system continually evaluates signs of fatigue, such as steering movements and other independent signals. If fatigue is detected, it warns the driver with an audible alarm and a visual alter, on the console – recommending the driver take a break.

  • Electromechanical Parking Brake and Auto Hold

    A button now replaces the conventional handbrake. Plus, with Auto Hold, as your car comes to a stop the ABS hydraulic unit holds the brakes, allowing you to comfortably take your foot off the pedal.

  • Side Assist1

    The Side Assist function can help make changing lanes even safer. Side Assist uses two radars at the rear of the vehicle to scan up to 50m behind the vehicle, alerting the driver to any cars approaching when changing lanes. The active steering function also provides resistance to the steering wheel if you attempt to change lanes while a vehicle is in your blind spot, further alerting you to a potential collision.

  • Front Assist with City Emergency Braking1

    Avoiding collisions is now a whole lot easier with this smart new safety feature on the Passat. Front Assist can detect a possible collision, warn the driver and automatically take action to avoid it.

  • Park Assist1

    No space too tight. No park too tough. The Passat can tuck itself away, saving you the worry. Using sensors on either side of the front and rear bumpers, together with parking distance sensors front and back, Park Assist actively helps you get in and out of spaces.

  • Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL)1

    When accelerating on road surfaces where each wheel has a different degree of traction, the EDL system gives you the grip you need.

  • Rear View Camera1

    The Rear View Camera displays a live picture on your screen that not only shows what's behind you, but also multi-angle views and dynamic guidance lines, which all come together to make reversing safer and easier.

  • Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP)1

    ESP prevents the vehicle from losing control when trying to avoid an accident. It also reduces the effects of understeer or oversteer.

    Should a situation arise where the vehicle starts to skid, ESP will apply the brakes to individual wheels and automatically adjust the engine’s power output to correct the problem.

  • 1.8L TSI Turbocharged Petrol Engine

    The 132kW TSI is a highly responsive turbocharged 1.8 litre engine, which pumps out 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque and with super-low fuel consumption of 5.7L/100km DSG, you get the best of both worlds.3

    The personalisation function in the Passat takes individualism to a whole new level.   • BlueMotion Technology

    BlueMotion Technology lowers fuel consumption. It includes the Start/Stop system, brake energy recuperation and gear shift recommendation. That means it better for your engine and your wallet.

  • Brake Energy Recuperation

    Brake energy recuperation recharges your car battery using the energy created from braking or when coasting. Because the battery is charged, the voltage in the alternator can be reduced, which means lower fuel consumption.
