Sydney Motorsport Park came alive on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, as Volkswagen Australia welcomed 90 guests for a coveted and exclusive Golf R Track Experience Day. The one-off event placed customers behind the wheel of the newly unveiled Golf R Mk8.5 and the striking Golf R Black Edition — the first time either model had been experienced in Australia.
From high-speed laps around the circuit to precision driving on the skidpan, attendees discovered first-hand why the R nameplate has become synonymous with performance, precision and everyday usability – showcasing the raw capability and advanced technology of Volkswagen’s R performance division.
